CREATIVE WELLBEING WORKSHOPS FOR WOMEN

Join a series of practical creative wellbeing sessions that will explore how we feel about being a woman at all the different stagaes of life.

Activities will guide you through a process that will transform our discussions and your ideas into a physical outcome, with the use of a swimsuit as a base for your artwork. You will have a chance to experiment with different materials and techniques to find the best way to express yourself.

If you wish, your finished piece will then be showcased in May at an exhibition curated by Amanda Hall in Bristol, alongside swimsuits made by women across the country. 

The sessions will be facilitated by a local artist Katie Hanning.

There will be two lots of sessions Thursday daytime and Tuesday evenings during March and April that will last 2 hours. Participants can book 3 sessions, or if they feel they need more time, may attend all 6 sessions. Booking is essential:

All materials are included but feel free to bring along any materials you want to work with. There will be refreshments available. Parking spaces are limited. Disabled access available at Lovell Place sessions.

Who is this for? 

There is space for 15 women to join this project. You must be over the age of 18 and live in South Gloucestershire. You do not need to have any prior art experience as you will be guided through the process, you just need willingness to create.

About the facilitator

Katie Hanning is a local artist who creates artworks, exhibitions and activities that explore the process of art as engagement. She often facilitates projects that are co-design and co-created by communities and are public facing. She has a degree in therapeutic creative arts, and contemporary arts practice and also works with young people who are outside the mainstream educational setting, through therapeutic art sessions and tutoring.
